Covered hoteliers will have to file the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (EEOC) revised EEO-1 Report, which is due
September 30, 2007. This article addresses what the EEO-1 report is, which hoteliers will be affected by the change, and how the
changes will impact those hoteliers.
What is the EEO-1 Report?
The EEOC requires that EEO-1 Reports be filed by every employer that has 100 or more workers. The EEO-1 Reports breaks down
an employer’s workforce by gender, race and job category. Data on all full-time and part-time employees must be included. Leased
or temporary employees do not need to be included in the filing. Employers must use employment data from any one pay period
between July and September of the same year in which the Report is filed.
