HospitalityLawyer.com's Policy on Privacy

Our Philosophy

At HospitalityLawyer.com, we make every reasonable effort to ensure that information held by HospitalityLawyer.com is confidential and secure. Sometimes, we collect information in order to improve the performance of the web site and in order to improve the experience of visitors. However, we also take all possible steps to minimize the intrusiveness of any data gathering and to disclose fully all policies and practices regarding the collection, management, and use of such information. We review our practices regularly, and many of our business decisions begin and end with considerations for your privacy.

Sharing and Use of Information

Currently, to gain full access of the resources available at HospitalityLawyer.com, users are required to input certain information, such as first and last name, an email address, and billing information.  As members browse the website, each page that an individual member visits is recorded in a database along with the date and time. We use this information to evaluate and improve the website. At no time will we disclose to third parties any one person's pattern of web site browsing. However, we reserve the right to disclose aggregate browsing statistics to interested third parties.

Furthermore, HospitalityLawyer.com hosts a forum for discussion.  Please remember that any information disclosed in these areas is public.  You should exercise caution when disclosing personal information in these areas.  Don’t disclose information in these public forums that might be considered confidential.

HospitalityLawyer.com may perform statistical analyses of user behavior in order to measure interest in the various areas of our site (for product development purposes) and to inform advertisers as to how many consumers have seen or “clicked”  their advertising banners.  HospitalityLawyer also uses demographic information to allow advertising banners on the Web site to be targeted to the readers for whom they are most pertinent.  This means that readers will see advertising that is most likely to interest them, and advertisers send their messages to people who are most likely to be receptive, improving both the user’s experience and the effectiveness of the ads.  In this statistical analyses and banner advertisement targeting, we will disclose information to third parties only in aggregate form, with no personally identifiable information.

Third Party Partners and Links to Other Web Sites

HospitalityLawyer is not responsible for the content or the privacy policies of Web sites to which it may link.  This policy applies solely to information collected by HospitalityLawyer.
While visiting the HospitalityLawyer.com site, you may decide to purchase a product or service through one of our provider partners whose services are promoted or advertised on the site.  If you do so, you will be acting under the guidelines of the third party provider’s privacy policy, if it has one.  HospitalityLawyer cannot make guarantees or warranties as to the nature of a third party’s use of your personal information.

Security Procedures

Information on visitors to the HospitalityLawyer.com web site remains on the web server and is accessible only to the HospitalityLawyer.com staff members. Access is permitted only for those who need to access such information, and they access the minimum necessary amount of information needed. Backup copies of user information are maintained through routine backup procedures for the entire HospitalityLawyer.com website.

The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

E-mail, which is different from the encrypted transmissions described above, is not secure. If you choose to send such information via email you do so at your own risk.

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

If you have any questions about security on our Web site, you can send email us at HospitalityLawyer@hospitalitylawyer.com.

Changes in this Privacy Statement

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in your HospitalityLawyer.com mailbox, or by means of a notice on our home page.

Legally Required Disclosures of Personal Information

We may, when permitted or required by law or court order, collect, use, and disclose personal information pursuant to procedures that do not require giving notice or acquiring consent from affected users. This may include, but is not limited to, circumstances under which we may be required to disclose personal information in connection with law enforcement investigations. Therefore, although we are committed to maintaining the privacy and security of your personal information to the extent possible, we cannot and do not promise that your personal information will always remain private.
