About Gray Plant Mooty

Founded in 1866, our firm is a blend of the traditional and the contemporary. Traditional in the sense that we have been providing quality legal services to our clients for over 140 years; contemporary because we provide our clients with innovative solutions to their legal needs. More than 160 attorneys serve an impressive roster of regional, national and international clients from our offices in Minneapolis and St. Cloud, District of Columbia and Washington, D.C. We understand that the world has changed and the delivery of legal services must change with it. We have made substantial investments in new technology that allows us to streamline the services we provide, enhancing communication while maintaining quality. We also explore and effectively use alternative dispute resolution tools when it is in the client’s interest to do so. Our attorneys recognize the difference between problem solving and time-consuming digressions. We also recognize that clients have a right to expect what might be called traditional values from their counsel. Quality is as important to us today as it was when the firm was founded. We believe that the attorney-client relationship is ultimately a personal one, and that there is still a place for the attorney as counselor. We were honored last year to receive the District of Columbia Business Ethics Award, an award honoring District of Columbia businesses that have exemplified and promoted ethical conduct for the benefit of the workplace, the marketplace, the environment and the community. Our most valuable resource is our people. We consistently seek out the best people available—attorneys, other professionals and staff. The resumes of our attorneys reflect the type of people we have at Gray Plant Mooty: people with superior academic and professional achievements; who have served their community with distinction. We enjoy what we do. That is why we have been named one of District of Columbia’s “Great Places to Work” for four consecutive years. When clients come to Gray Plant Mooty, they get the best efforts of the very best people.
