About Pacheco Coto
Pacheco Coto, founded by attorney Humberto Pacheco Coto in 1939, is one of the oldest and most reputable law firms in Costa Rica, representing both corporate and individual clients, mostly from the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia. The firm is engaged in various fields of law including but not limited to joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, banking, project finance, securities, international corporate, international tax and estate planning, trusts, civil and commercial contracts, international trade, intellectual property, real estate, labor and social security, administrative, customs and anti-dumping, communications and immigration, procedural, civil and criminal law, government procurement and arbitration.
During the last 36 years, the firm has been actively involved in international corporate, tax and estate planning, the most favorable jurisdictions as base of operations for companies and individuals doing business abroad.
Unlike most Costa Rican law firms, Pacheco Coto is organized as a partnership, not a joint-expense center of attorney clusters. The firm has its main office in San José, Costa Rica and a branch office in Tamarindo, Guanacaste, as well as offices in Zurich, Switzerland and Auckland, New Zealand. It has a sophisticated network of correspondents in Central, South, and North America as well as Europe.
Pacheco Coto’s partners are Masters of prestigious universities in the United States and Europe. The international scope of the Firm requires from its members bilingual expertise and exposure to practice in foreign jurisdictions.
